The poet tries to guess the girl’s nationality through out the song. If we take a look at the song a little objectively the girl seems from the Indian subcontinent. If we agree on this premise, then the poet is only proclaiming branded clothes as the biggest cue to identify nationality. This is little offensive, branded clothes are present in the rest of the Indian subcontinent too. For eg. Bangladesh is a big apparel manufacturing hub!
